Greetings, my name is Shawn M. Jones and I work as a computer scientist for the federal government in Norfolk, VA.
I’ve been a federal employee for more than 10 years at the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR). During my time there I’ve worked as a web designer, systems administrator, network administrator, and have participated in many aspects of systems and software engineering.
In 1999, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Old Dominion University, but this doesn’t mean that I stopped learning. Recently, I received my Systems Planning, Research, Development, and Engineering (SPRDE) Level 2 Certification from the Defense Acquisition University in the field of Systems Engineering, and am enrolled as a graduate student at Old Dominion University where I am pursuing a Master’s Degree in Computer Science.
In my free time I play video games, go to concerts, engage in home improvement, experiment with system administration tasks, hang with friends and family, travel to interesting places, and check out sci-fi and Anime conventions.
